FixThisWindow Comedy Group Takes on Arthur’s Seat in Hilarious Video Review. FixThisWindow, an Aberdeen-based comedy group featured on BBC Scotland, have released a satirical video review of Edinburgh’s iconic Arthur’s Seat. The clip begins with Ross, 25, wearing an Australian slouch hat and approaching the extinct volcano in the background. Mikey, 24 follows behind him to film from behind the camera as Ross jokes “No, it’s not Mount Kilimanjaro. It’s Arthur Seat.” Jordan then enters the frame to run backwards up the hill while rattling off ‘five trivia facts about Arthur’s Seat.’
Ross is seen walking comically and staring intensely at the camera with Scottish music playing in the background as he points out that “Arthur’s Seat is controversially not recognised as one of the Alps.” Jordan then adds that it has many hill-like qualities before Ross jokes that “the first man to summit Arthur’s Seat walked all the way to the top”. The pair then burst into humorous dancing and shouting around the hilly area, with Ross pointing vaguely at the hills and crags behind him and saying “Arthur’s Seat is located next to those thingies which is pretty cool if you think about it.”
Jordan then reveals one of the only true facts in the video, saying: “Arthur’s Seat is an extinct volcano” before contradicting himself by adding a joke that “So, watch out for the lava!” Ross continues his ‘facts’, claiming that “Arthur’s seat was constructed in early 2000s. That’s one for the 90s babies.” Jordan then spots a fold-up seat, cracking a pun on the hill’s name before Ross adds his last ‘fact’ that “Arthur’s Seat is one of Scotland’s many seats”. The camera pans to show an astonished Jordan looking at joggers and tourists in the background before he exclaims “Somebody built a road on this thing!”
The video ends with Ross pointing to a white bobble hat popping up from behind a rock exclaiming: “That’s Lady Arthur Seat.” This comedy sketch captures the ridiculousness of urban myths, poking fun at Edinburgh’s historic landmark and all its weird and wonderful quirks.
